Finding things to climb over, exploring a world of trees and leaves and frogs

There is no bigger success than the first time you find your own way across a stream

Tentatively stepping rock by rock, landing safe and dry on the other side with a whole new world to explore

Today was full of starts and stops, trying to find a comforting place for all the ideas while dodging the crippling voices of saboteurs.

In the end simply looking from a new view point was really all that interested me.

It is hot. And bright.

Days are getting shorter, shadows are longer.

The light is still harsh but very soon it will  take on the glow of Fall just around the corner.

For the first time in a long, long time I am not in a hurry for summer to end.

I want to hang out in my lazy afternoon nap rhythm, letting any demands for rushing, producing, and accomplishing simply melt away in the sun.

I’ve discovered I actually do have a bit of a green thumb.

Although I have also discovered I can tend to over tend my plants.

“That’s because you want to play with them like kittens” says my husband.

Wrong. I want them to have tea and charming conversation with me.

The secret language of surveyors. What is going to change? What gets a new landscape? What boundary, effect or position needs marking?

Sometimes, more than we think, the most  interesting is  not what is meant for the public.

It is the texture and grit of the back alley, the place where flaws are not given the illusion of perfection. Where they are patched only as needed. Left to live an uninterupted life.

Where you can relax and not worry about good lighting or the right manners.

You settle in to what is and allow the texture of a life fully lived reveal the art that can only come with time, mistakes, scars, and the right amount of privacy.
